BATW Meeting – Oct. 20, 2012
10 a.m.-12 noon meeting
The Boothby Center, San Francisco
“Successful Creative Collaboration: When 1 + 1 = 3,” presented by Suzie Rodriguez and Laurie McAndish King.
In October we return to the Boothby Center for a presentation by BATW members Laurie McAndish King and Suzie Rodriguez on the subject of creative collaboration.
If you’ve ever thought of teaming up with another person to produce a creative work, this presentation is for you. Laurie and Suzie joined forces two years ago to write a travel app for Sutro Media, “The San Francisco Waterfront: From Bridge to Ballpark” (recently re-branded as “America’s Cup and SF Waterfront”). They also co-taught a class on creating apps, ran a related website, and more.
Perhaps more important, they encouraged and inspired each other, had a great time while working hard, never stopped laughing, and grew from acquaintances to friends. In short, they enjoyed collaborating so much that they want to turn YOU on to doing the same thing.
Among the topics to be covered at the meeting:
- What are the benefits of creative collaboration?
- What are the potential pitfalls?
- Should you sign a contract?
- Tips and tools for working collaboratively.
- Q&A session.
Following the meeting we’ll all enjoy a collaborative lunch (also known as a potluck). Details to follow.
